What is sent physically?
In general, there are formats which are always sent physically. These include:
- Mailings thicker than 2.5 cm
- Script that is difficult to read
- Where the recipient address does not fully match the Post master data
- The recipient address in the mail centre cannot be read in full (e.g. out of place in the envelope window)
- Often with the use of c/o addresses (if no clear allocation / order)
- Similar recipients at the same address
The KLARA scanning service uses the Post’s “auto” sorting format. This means that all letters that can be sorted mechanically are forwarded. Anything not recognised mechanically will still be physically sent to your address.
With purely mechanical sorting, it is possible that letters that could apparently be sorted nevertheless end up in the mailbox.
Why is it not possible to forward all letters?
A 100% forwarding rate is not achieved with the scanning service offer because the home mailbox still has to be administered. It is only through the high degree of automation of the solution that a commensurate price can be offered.
