To improve delivery, it is important that the addresses on the letter and the address in the postal data match as closely as possible (NOTE: not in ePost from KLARA Business AG, but in the systems of the Swiss Post). Please see below where and in what form you can do this. This applies especially to persons with several names. Here are a few example combinations of a postal address as it might physically arrive at the Scanning centre:
- Mr Dr Maximilian Thomas Müller Meier
- Mr Maximilian Müller Meier
- Mr Thomas Müller Meier
- Mr Maximilian Müller
- Mr Maximilian Meier
Due to various combination options of this name in the address, the sorting rate may turn out lower and therefore more letters are delivered physically.
Therefore, in the above example, it is advised that the name is recorded as follows:
Mr Maximilian Thomas Müller Meier
You can request a name correction in the Swiss Post systems in two ways:
Online: In your Swiss Post customer portal "My Post" at www.post.ch
In the top right-hand corner, click on your user (circle with letters) and go to "My profile". In the "User details" area, you can open the address change by clicking on the "pen" icon. There you select "Report name correction" and enter your name change.
On location: At a Swiss Post office
Name corrections can also be reported on the counter. To prevent fraud, private individuals must present a new identity document, or business customers a new commercial register and an identity document for identification.
